Frederiksberg (near Frederiksberg Have) · Independent foundation
A single building on Bredegade 13B in Frederiksberg holds two historically distinct colleges. The Hassager wing, founded in 1900 from a bequest by Dorthea Hassager, was one of the first dedicated women's college residences in Denmark — ten rooms where KU students share daily meals in a kitchen community five days a week. The larger 4. Maj wing was built in 1951 from nationwide donations, created as a living memorial to Danish resistance fighters who died under the German occupation; its name honours Liberation Day, 4 May 1945.
Together, the 73-room college embodies two strands of Danish history: the early feminist commitment to women's higher education and the wartime ideal of democratic solidarity. Grandchildren of resistance fighters hold admissions priority for the 4. Maj wing, while the college's annual Liberation Day celebration keeps that memory alive. Both wings share Frederiksberg Have at their doorstep and Copenhagen Business School within walking distance.

### Hassager Wing (10 rooms)

- Priority groups (fundatsprivilegium): Students from specific Danish parishes (Vejerslev, Aidt, Thorsøe / Sevel / Nørre Felding, Tvis / Låstrup, Skals / Særslev); descendants of Rev. H.H. Hassager or Rev. Rasmus Hørning; students from Aarhus, Ribe, Viborg and Fyn dioceses. Documentation required.
- Selection: All 10 current Hassager residents vote collectively. Key criterion: motivation to participate in the kitchen community (madklub 5 days/week). Diversity weighted.

The fundats and husorden of 4. Maj-/Hassagerkollegiet state: rooms are for the sole occupancy of the admitted resident. The college explicitly has no couples' apartments.
