Copenhagen has many kollegier (student dormitories) spread across the city and its suburbs. These dorms are managed by organizations like KKIK (Kollegiernes Kontor I København), CIU (Copenhagen International University housing), DIS (Danish Institute for Study Abroad), and independent foundations.
When students go on exchange semesters, internships, or summer holidays, they can legally sublet their room through a process called fremleje. KollegieSwap makes this easy by connecting verified students looking for temporary rooms with verified students subletting theirs.
Each dorm has its own character, rules, and community. Rooms range from 12 m² singles to 25 m² studios, with monthly rents typically between 2,500 and 6,000 DKK. Most kollegier are located near major universities and well-connected by metro, S-train, or bus.
