U2 Campus Apartments are among the most distinctive student residences in Denmark, and arguably the most vividly international. The 312 studio apartments at Nordvej 259 — built using the Concept Living modular prefabrication system — shot up in under a year: ground was broken in August 2018 and the complex opened in May 2019. Two three-winged buildings, each three storeys high around open courtyards, give the site a structured village feel despite housing hundreds of residents.
Every unit is a fully independent studio with its own toilet, bathroom, kitchen, and living space, and arrives furnished down to curtains and kitchen utensils — a deliberate choice to ease international arrivals. The apartments are managed by Boligfonden DTU (BDTU), the International Housing Foundation, and they are designed almost exclusively for international DTU students: MSc students, exchange students, BSc General Engineering students, internship students, and summer school participants all apply through dedicated portals at bdtu.dk.
U2 is aimed at short-to-medium term international stays. Contracts are fixed-term and semester-based. Sublet of BDTU units is NOT standard practice — accommodation is tied to active DTU enrolment/programme status.
North of Copenhagen, centered around the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). A quieter suburban area with green spaces and easy S-train access to the city.
