Søborg (Gladsaxe) · Kollegiernes Kontor i København (KKIK)
Kagsåkollegiet sits on a gently sloping site in Søborg, Gladsaxe, where the terrain descends toward the Kagså stream. The architects used the gradient to stagger the 308-unit complex into distinct block clusters — giving each group of buildings its own partially sheltered green zone, even though nearly all outdoor space is communal. The mix of accommodation is unusually broad: single rooms with shared kitchens at the affordable end, self-contained one-bedroom flats, and two- and three-bedroom apartments — including 46 small townhouses (rækkehuse) — designed for students with families.
An on-site private kindergarten (Kastaniehuset Kagså) makes this one of the few Danish kollegier equipped for student parents. Resident democracy is strong: residents elect their own council, organise year-round social events, and can hire the Centre for private functions. FA09 administers the property directly from an on-site estate office. S-train access to central Copenhagen is available from Søborg; the ride to Nørreport is around 20 minutes.
A residential suburb in Gladsaxe Municipality, north of Copenhagen. S-train and bus connections to the center; affordable rents relative to inner CPH.
