I found a subtenant for my Tietgen room in 3 days. On Facebook it took me 2 weeks last time and I still wasn't sure who I was dealing with.
Copenhagen has over 30 kollegier (student dorms) spread across neighborhoods like Nørrebro, Frederiksberg, Østerbro, and Amager. When students travel, study abroad, or take internships, they can legally sublet their room through a process called fremleje. Under the Danish Rent Act (Lejeloven §157–158), subletting is permitted for up to two years, and the subtenant's rent cannot exceed the original tenant's rent.
Most kollegier require written approval from the dorm administration before subletting begins. The subleaser and subtenant must sign a written contract, and both parties should document the room's condition before and after the sublet period. KollegieSwap connects verified students on both sides of this process, so you always know who you're dealing with.
Every KollegieSwap user is verified through their university email. Danish university emails (KU, DTU, CBS, ITU, AAU) are verified instantly. International students are verified against a database of over 9,000 universities worldwide.
