Det Nye Emdrupborg Kollegium takes its name — literally "the new Emdrup Castle dormitory" — from the forested lakeside grounds of Emdrup in Copenhagen's north-west. The three four-storey point-block buildings were completed around 2008 and house 111 rooms in a mix of sizes, from 39-square-metre studios to wheelchair-accessible ground-floor flats and 48-square-metre large singles. Every floor has a shared kitchen alongside each private kitchenette, and the three buildings share a party room, fitness room and laundry.
Ten rooms are reserved by the Housing Foundation for international students, making this one of the few kollegier in Copenhagen with a formal international allocation. Immediately next door is DPU (Danish School of Education, part of Aarhus University); the Danish School of Journalism (DMJX) is less than three minutes' walk. Nørrebro's bars and restaurants are 15 minutes by bike. The kollegium is administered by FA09 through KKIK, and both Danish and international residents describe the community atmosphere as unusually welcoming for a mixed-nationality building.
A leafy northern district straddling Bispebjerg and Nordvest, home to one of KU's smaller campuses (DPU). Quiet, residential, with good S-train links to the center.
