Kgs. Lyngby (between Bagsværd Sø and Lyngby Sø) · Independent foundation
Nybrogård Kollegiet was built in 1970 to a design that favoured breadth over height: 18 low yellow corridors, each housing around 26 residents, stretch across a green lakeside site between Bagsværd Sø and Lyngby Sø. The 536 rooms make it one of the larger kollegier in the Copenhagen region, and the surrounding landscape — easily reached on foot or by bike — is a defining part of daily life here. Administration is handled by KAB, with applications going through the findbolig.nu portal, where waiting times have historically sat around six months. The kollegium's fremleje rules are among the most precisely specified of any self-governing residence: education-related sublets run up to six months, but only if the tenant is leaving Zealand entirely; non-education sublets are capped at three months; all contracts must clear the secretariat at least a month before they begin; Airbnb and holiday-platform rentals are explicitly excluded. Both the outgoing tenant and the incoming subtenant must be actively enrolled students throughout the arrangement.
